Set Yourself Up For Success

Learn from MYAU veterans! We offer an experience-based course focused on self care, systems, trail specifics, race rules, and more, plus a wealth of entertaining and informative stories from past mistakes and successes.

The workshop has a few options:

1. Private Facebook group with online Zoom sessions - Three 2.5 hr meetings (Oct/Dec/Jan).

3. Day trip only - January 30, 2024.

4. Full course (online + four days in Whitehorse, in person) - Jan 28-Feb 1, 2024.

5. 1:1 meeting via phone or video call.

Online Component

Online group meetings (3 sessions, 2.5 hours each): discussion, questions, and a structured delivery on a range of topics including race strategy and planning, winter safety, and gear systems.

Upon registration you'll have access to the private MYAU Workshop Facebook Group for support leading up to the race, and learn from the questions and comments from other group members. Questions and comments will be answered by your course instructors/past MYAU veterans. Gain valuable insight into what others have experienced and find out what might work for you.

You will receive a detailed trail description (distances, major climbs, check point information), & GPX tracks.

Full Course

The hands on and experiential component is where your confidence in the cold will be built up and have you feeling as ready as possible for the MYAU. Meet your future friends and trail mates, hang out with locals, and check out the Yukon Quest trail!

Included in the full four day training program from Jan 28-Feb 1, 2024:

1. Online course plus Facebook group access.

2. Four days of in-person practical training and discussion in Whitehorse.

3. Transportation to and from trail outings.

4. Meals provided.

5. Accommodation provided (hostel/shared space style).

Day Trip Only

Date: January 30, 2024

Lunch at Muktuk Adventures.
Travel the race route from Muktuk (1st checkpoint of the MYAU) to the start of the Old Dawson Trail. Participants will then have a chance to test out their stove, make a wood fire, and bivy overnight before returning to Whitehorse or the hostel.

This is an excellent opportunity to ensure your kit and systems are set, prior to the race start.
